Re: Clintwood-Haysi thoughts

Well I thought it was kind of humorous and creative at least.

We talked several days about this Clintwood - Haysi rivalry being so intense and consuming the players, coaches, and fans. Is it really that surprising that after the game is over, the winning team is going to enjoy strutting their stuff and claiming their bragging rights?

I know some think Clintwood is above it, but I really wouldn't expect the Clintwood fans to react any differently had Clintwood won the game.

Yep you can jump all you want, but of course just realize that you see pretty much all the people from Clintwood being nice and complimenting Haysi. No excuses. Of course we're all such bad sports and sore losers, its truely amazing to see that.

I won't say anything bad about the Haysi fans, for every one that was saying losers, how does it feel to lose again Wave at the players as we walked back to the locker room, there was 2-3 saying good job, way to battle and being nice. Just like every place, they have their good and bad, and unfortunately it looks like at least one bad (or supposedly one) has found the forum.

Wouldn't happen with 95% of the folks on here. Just look back less than a year in the board history after the Clintwood/PV game. Most of the CW folks on here are older and more mature than that, minus burrhead. Of course it's only happened with one "new" moron from Haysi.

Obviously, you have a higher opinion of the Clintwood fans. No point in arguing it.

So, the game is over. Haysi won. They're enjoying their bragging rights. I'm not surprised that Clintwood fans don't appreciate it. But, you knows it takes two teams to make a rivalry. Despite what some might think, no one is completely guilty, no one is completely innocent, and it's never one-sided.

You have a GREAT intrest in this for someone from neither place.

Sorry I can't claim kinship to either Haysi or Clintwood. I obviously am glad that Haysi won, but I don't think the outcome was ever really in question.

I am a seasoned fan of Clintwood and congrats to the Haysi team for a game well played....but what did my heart more good than anything, was seeing my grandson and his friends from Clintwood having a friendly conversation after the game. Folks, that is all it about for us! We all need to take lessons.

    Re: Clintwood-Haysi thoughts

The Clintwood coaching staff have always done a great job of instilling sportsmanship in their players, moreso than many other teams in the area.

Ideally, it would be great if that sportsmanship would extend to the communities.

Congratulations to the Haysi Tigers on a well-deserved win!
